This site is connected to the Artisans that work day after day creating art at the Art Center in the coastal Ghanaian City of Accra.

They have been there, selling their art for at least the last 60 years when some Hausa people from Nigeria set up the market.

Afikyiri Edjua roughly translates to Backyard Market. Afikyiri being Backyard, Edjua being market. In practice, this would be a market that the government and laws would have little control over. Folks might use barter here, buy and sell things they would not rush to buy elsewhere, plan events... etc. We are bring the Afikyiri onto the internet.

There are hundreds of people who get their living from their art made at the art center. Much of the money paid for items here goes right back to them to get more items. In the future, we plan to get way more items on the store, as well as being able to make new custom items. The workers and potential is there, and with the onset of Bitcoin, it will be easier than ever to build business and people up all around the world.
